The law firm of Tansley | Halloran recently opened its doors at 11 Pleasant St. in Worcester. We sat down with Maura Tansley and Elizbeth Halloran to find out what it means to be compassionate local attorneys in 2021.

What sort of law do you practice and how long have you been in Worcester?

EH: I grew up here in Worcester. I moved back to Worcester when I was hired in the District Attorney’s office in 2012 right after I graduated law school. My practice is primarily criminal defense as well as family and probate litigation.

How blockchain could make fashion more sustainable

TextileGenesis believes the technology that underpins cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin can help. The company, based in Hong Kong and India, wants to make the fashion industry more transparent by using blockchain to digitize the supply chain, helping brands track clothes production from the raw materials to the finished article.

Sourcing sustainable materials is becoming a top priority for fashion companies, according to a 2019 report by consulting firm McKinsey & Company. Brands surveyed for the report said they also wanted to create transparency in their supply chains, but McKinsey noted few companies had yet achieved that.

Exclusive: Baby Phat Is Bringing Back Its Costume Jewelry

Baby Phat is dropping a jewelry capsule collection including statement pieces that harken back to the brand’s classic early 2000s designs.  

Kimora Lee Simmons, with the help of her daughters Ming Lee Simmons and Aoki Lee Simmons, announced the collection on Monday.

“Jewelry was always iconic for Baby Phat, and our fans have been begging for us to bring back the jewelry since we re-launched 2 years ago,” Simmons said in a press release for the drop. The former supermodel and business mogul relaunched her iconic brand back in 2019.

Demi Moore hits the Fendi runway at Paris Fashion Week

From Hollywood to haute couture.

On Wednesday, Demi Moore surprised the Paris Fashion Week crowd with a catwalk cameo during Fendi’s Spring 2021 show.

The 58-year-old actress opened the presentation in a plunging off-the-shoulder jacket and matching wide-leg trousers, along with a pair of seriously statement-making geometric earrings.

While the “Ghost” actress made an appearance in fishnets and lace during Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty fashion show last fall, the Fendi show marks her runway debut.

Rihanna and LVMH Hit Pause on Fenty, Their Fashion Line

Is this the end of the celebrity-high-fashion-designer experiment? There is, it turns out, something even Rihanna cannot do: sell high fashion clothes during a pandemic.

LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, the French luxury group, announced the Fenty fashion house to great fanfare in 2019. But today, they revealed that, with Rihanna, they had “jointly made the decision to put on hold the ready-to-wear activity, based in Europe, pending better conditions.”
