Tessa Packard’s recycled plastic jewellery celebrates vintage Americana

The Plastic Fantastic collection sets precious gems in recycled lucite and resin

Recycled plastic may not be the first material that springs to mind when it comes to fine jewellery, but when set with a rainbow of precious gems, it makes for pieces both precious and sustainable.

Jeweller Tessa Packard’s new collection, Plastic Fantastic, celebrates unexpected combinations and joyful design ticks in a range of rings, necklaces and cuffs. ‘I like playing around with how certain materials sit together – in this case gold and gemstones and plastic,’ she says. ‘The last

The Spring 2021 Runway Jewelry Trend to Shop Now

Fashion’s cyclical nature is well-established, but that’s not to say it’s not exciting. It just means that all the fun lies in the wait and see—the surprise of when and how designers will remix silhouettes and recycle colors and fabrics anew.

In the spring 2021 collections, we saw iconic accessories come to life in new and unexpected ways. For a handful of designers, this meant miniaturizing their best-selling and most coveted styles into teeny, pint-size jewelry versions.

At Jacquemus, the Le Chiquito mini bags were seemingly cast in metal and turned into earrings. At Loewe, Jonathan Anderson fashioned the label’s

The Trove, the newest addition to the Bishop Arts District, is a treasure for those prone to indulge in shopping and drinks.

Technically a mezcaleria, The Trove specializes in mescal. Bartenders liken the liquor to a smoky tequila. But unlike tequila, which can only hail from Jalisco, Mexico, mescal can be made from agave grown anywhere in Mexico and still be called mescal.

Patrons eager to drink libations made with mescal, CBD oil and even

Threads Ramps Up Fine Jewelry Business

LONDON — It’s been a strong year for fine jewelry — particularly for Threads, the social shopping platform that sells luxury via Instagram and WhatsApp and has a no-inventory business model.

The retailer’s model meant it could quickly adapt to the overnight lifestyle changes that came with the outbreak of COVID-19, and continue servicing its community from home. There might have been obvious shifts, like an increase in athleisure content and sales, but when it came to the fine jewelry category, appetite didn’t just stay consistent but grew stronger. Sales were up 80 percent compared to 2019, according to the

Wire jewelry company helps pay for mental health counseling in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – There are many stigmas surrounding taking care of your mental health, especially in Black and Brown communities. One of the main reasons people say they don’t go to therapy is because it’s too expensive. A Lincoln couple is now pitching in to help, and it all starts with pieces of jewelry.

“One thing about wire is the more that you manipulate it, the harder it gets. If you manipulate it too much, it will break,” said Aspen Triplett, owner of Dasanni Speaks Wire Jewelry.

What started out as a way to cope for Aspen and her

Meet With Clarity, The Online Jewelry Brand That Lets You Try-On Before You Buy

“There’s a lot of FOBO when it comes to jewelry — especially engagement rings,” said Anubh Shah, co-founder of With Clarity.

FOBO, like its predecessor ‘FOMO’, refers to the fear of buying online, something very prevalent in the world of jewelry. A brief Google Image search for ring and pendant measurements pulls up over 9,000 results including drawings, models, and comparable mannequins for consumers trying to guess their relative size. With Clarity, however, is changing those standards of online purchasing uncertainties.

Mr. Shah is a third-generation jewelry designer whose lineage stems from Jaipur,
