New York Fashion Week to Have Runway Shows This September

The CFDA has released the official schedule for New York Fashion Week’s spring 2022 season, which will be presented Tuesday, Sept. 7 through Sunday, Sept. 12 this coming fall. Ninety-one designers have confirmed presentations so far, but the lineup will be continuously adjusted leading up to the event, which will comply with New York State Heath Guidelines and be carried out in tandem with IMG’s NYFW: The Shows.

Ella Emhoff, Kamala Harris’ stepdaughter, walks Balenciaga runway

Ella Emhoff, the 22-year-old stepdaughter to Vice President Kamala Harris, made her Paris Fashion Week debut walking the runway for Balenciaga. 

After making waves at New York Fashion Week earlier this year, Emhoff took things international to Paris on Wednesday for Balenciaga couture’s Fall/Winter 2021/2022 show. She sported a black suit with an oversized matching shawl, complete with pointed black boots, a sleek bun and glasses.

Australian Fashion Week Slammed For Wheelchair Inaccessible Runway

The organisers at Australian Fashion Week have been slammed online for being performative, after they used a model who uses a wheelchair without actually making the runway accessible for him.

The runway faux-pas occurred at the final combined runway at Australian Fashion Week, at the time IMG model Rheed McCracken was wearing popular athleisure label P.E Nation.

Rent the Runway enters $33 billion fashion resale market

Rent the Runway said Wednesday it is expanding into resale, a major evolution for the fashion rental platform.

Customers will soon be able to buy used designer clothes from the business in addition to renting them. No membership will be required, as Rent the Runway looks to broaden its reach and give shoppers more feasible entry points. Previously, only paying members were able to buy gently used Rebecca Minkoff dresses, Tory Burch tops and even Lululemon leggings from Rent the Runway, at a discount.
